Camp Kelsey | Archaeology Camp

Embark on an unforgettable journey at Camp Kelsey, a summer camp designed for middle schoolers (incoming 5th through 7th graders) at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. Guided by the museum’s expert educators, campers take part in lively learning experiences, including behind-the-scenes tours of the Kelsey, field trips around Ann Arbor, conversations with U-M faculty and staff, hands-on creative projects, and more. Join us for a summer of exploration, imagination, and new friendships!

What exactly do archaeologists do? How does their work allow us to understand the past? At the Kelsey Museum’s first-ever archaeology-themed camp, students will handle real artifacts, learn about life in the field, and undertake their own excavation projects.
